How it is calculated

The class results from placing EP on the scale for the building category, from Mc 001-2022, §5.3. Intervals are open on the left and closed on the right.

When the building has no cooling or, for dwellings, no mechanical ventilation, the limits of the scale are recalculated (Mc 001-2022, §5.3, Note 4). For non-residential buildings ventilation is always included in the calculation, so only the cooling tick box matters there.

The class on the energy performance certificate is set by a certified energy auditor, on the calculation of the building; here you have only an estimate.
